As hard as it is to believe, Cireus-Anime’s first birthday is rapidly approaching, and in celebration of this milestone, Cireus is hosting a wallpaper contest!

Feeling creative? Well, you should! There are a few rules, but the prize is awesome, so here we go!

Wallpapers may be submitted in one of the following three sizes (or all, if you wish):

• 1280 X 800 (wide screen)
• 1024 X 768
• 800 X 600

And must include the url of the website OR forum:

• http://www.cireus-anime.net
• http://forum.cireus-anime.com

And your username for credit.

And (uhhh, no brainer …) must be an anime wallpaper wholly original that you’ve designed. Please do not use fanarts unless you created the fanart. I love fanarts, too, but I also respect the artists of those fanarts who do not necessarily wish for their hard work to be manipulated or redistributed. You can use official art and animation in your design or fanarts that YOU have created.

By submitting your entry, you understand that your wallpaper will be uploaded for distribution on Cireus-Anime.net.

Submissions:

Upload your wallpaper to the entry thread or post a link to it. The link must be public. I will not log into something in order to view it for the contest.

In your submission post, please state what size(s) your wallpaper is.

Please note: you must be a member of the forum in order to participate in the contest!

Judging the contest:

As with the signature of the month contests, this contest will also be judged by all forum members who wish to vote. Cireus will not vote unless there is a tie. As such, all forum members including other admin as well as mods are welcome to submit entries.

Deadline:

All entries must be posted by November 15, 2007, 11:59 pm EST (GMT -5). Voting will be open from 12:00 am November 16, 2007 until 11:59 pm November 22, 2007, which just happens to be Cireus-Anime’s official birthday!

Winner will be announced on November 23, 2007 in the Cireus-Anime Forum!

The prize?

Pretty awesome, really, but up for grabs is a brand new copy of Fullmetal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy game for the Nintendo DS. That’s right; no joke. Winner will be contacted via PM regarding mailing information so that I can send their prize to them!

Still no word on new manga releases, though I really hope that there is a new one soon … Ah, if only I could bribe the Kagami group … but sadly, that probably would not work!

In other news, I’m running a contest through one of my other sites (Fullmetal Alchemist Anime) to give away two brand new copies of the Nintendo DS game, FMA: Dual Sympathy.  These games were given to me by the High Water Group, who did the PR prior to the game’s release.  For rules and such, feel free to drop by the Cireus Forum!

For those who have asked: No, I haven’t heard a thing about a third season of Meine Liebe (though I would be the happiest fangirl ever if it did come to pass), and, uh … I have to say (though it really rather disturbs me that I do have to say this since it should be obvious …) I’m not Orpherus.  I don’t know Orpherus.  In fact, I’m female … and Orpherus is a fictional character … and while I’m glad that you’ve supposedly bore his love-child, suing me for paternity would only get you laughed out of court, even in the country of Kuchen …

On the updating front, I’ve been working on uploading all of the Meine Liebe and Meine Liebe Wieder anime to the site for direct download. As long as no one abuses this feature, I’ll leave them posted. Aarinfantasy gave me permission to host her fansubs, so I’m really excited about how things are going! I added drama cds to the Goodies page on the site along with a link to Soubi, a really nice chick who has translated quite a few Meine Liebe drama cds. If there is enough interest, I’ll consider uploading some different drama cds, as well, so feel free to let me know if that’s something that interests you! I want to get a feel for whether or not it’d be worth my time to upload them.

This is a little sad. I swore I’d go to bed a bit ago, then I thought I should update this blog since I’ve been so preoccupied with getting the new forum set up and running. I’d love to see more people join! I think it’s going to be a great thing! No one anime is really showcased in the forum. It’s for anyone who loves anime to come and hang out. I hope that it’ll come to be known as a friendly place with nice people!
